Weeping May Endure For A Night But JOY!

Dear Hearts,

I have lived long enough to know that no matter how saved, sanctified, or Holy we think we are; life will get hard at times. The bible tells us the rain falls on the Just and the Unjust. If you are reading this blog today and you are going through something, and you need some encouragement. You are reading at the right moment and the right time. From paying bills to taking care of your family, it can seem like the weight of the world is on your shoulders.

There are times when life just feels completely unbearable to the point where we feel like giving up. The struggle becomes too real when hope is hard to have, and optimism is not the norm. When we are attacked and persecuted for simply being, it is hard to have hope and it is hard to have peace. During the storm, our natural response as a human is fight or flight; yet God calls us to be more than human, we are called to actively resist either by fleeing or fighting back.

It is in these times that we have no choice, but look to the Word of God, the promises of God, in how we are to respond. In the gospel of John, there is a promise that we should all remember:

“I have said this to you, so that in me you may have peace. In the world you face persecution. But take courage; I have conquered the world.” (John 16.33)

In this scriptural text, Jesus promises that in Him, we have the formula to resist all Hell that is breaking loose in our lives. Jesus does not promise us that we won’t cry, and He doesn’t promise us that we won’t have to endure hardships. However, he does promise us that we must take courage, for to be in Christ is to conquer the world.

Just remember, if your foundation is Christ, we can experience the peace of God which surpasses ALL understanding. When the rest of the world is afraid and uncertain, we as Christians have the hope in knowing that just as Christ has overcome the world, YOU can too.

You will overcome financial storms.

You will overcome sickness.

You will overcome brokenness.

You can overcome any and everything that stands in the way of an abundant and divinely connected life. Truly, you can have peace amid the storm when You trust in God because your sorrow won’t last forever; He will turn things around for you when you keep the faith.
