Ladies, Ladies, Ladies, you deserve to be pampered and for the last two months, I have truly enjoyed spending time with my girlfriends. As I get older, I am learning what balance looks like. For many years, I have juggled, a career, parenting, and once upon a time being a wife in which I sacrificed so much of myself to give to others. Well, I have learned that you can’t pour from an empty cup. It is so important for everyone at some point in time to take a step back and prioritize self-care, it is a necessity rather than an indulgence. Self-care is about self-preservation, not selfishness.
Ladies, we must pour back into ourselves by taking moments each day and shutting out all distractions to meditate, pray, state affirmations, and practice breathing and physical exercises. You don’t have
to incorporate all of these in one setting but incorporate them at your leisure. Many of you may be used to running on empty, please break that habit before it breaks you. I had to learn this the hard way, as I laid on my back in a hospital bed in my struggle with anxiety. So, now I am an advocate of taken care of yourself; because you will be no good to anyone else if you are ill. Too many times I ran myself until I couldn’t go anymore and burned myself out.
Scripture even discusses getting rest in several places in the bible, but one that speaks to my spirit is Mark 6:31 “And he said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest a while.” For many were coming and going, and they had no leisure even to eat.”
To every reader, I pray that you will learn how to steal away some time just to clear your mind and thoughts and gain greater clarity for your life. There are many ways you can pamper yourself, but I just want to share a few with you that you may enjoy. You will feel a lot better mentally and physically after doing it.
You may enjoy a warm bubble bath which will help to moisturize and cleanse your skin. Also, there is nothing like a great massage and foot detox which gets rid of impurities and release toxins in your body. By unwinding and detoxifying yourself, your immune system will gain a boost.
So now you have it! We all deserve to indulge in some type of pampering experience from time to time…no matter what your age or lifestyle! My final thoughts are you are too blessed to be stressed, therefore, be good to yourself!
