No matter what you may be faced with on this journey called life, continue to keep your eyes on God. God is bigger than all our problems. We will endure pain in our lives, but we must learn to let go and let God be alive in our lives. God is the only one who can take what we’ve been through and work it out for our good. No one can achieve victory for us; we must work out our own salvation. Paul explained this truth in his letter to the Philippian church, saying:
“Dear friends, you always followed my instructions when I was with you. And now that I am away, it is even more important. Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear. 13 For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him. Philippians 2:12-13 NLT
We must let God take us through the process so that we gain our trust in Him for progress, so our mess becomes our message. Difficult things that we have endured in our past prepare us for God's blessings in our future. That’s why From Scars to Stars is such an important message that I want to give! It is the very epitome of what it means for God to take our mess and give us a message. The word of God says that he makes all things new and that is what From Scars to Stars is about. Its written testimony of the journey the Lord took me on to heal. He truly made my scars beautiful and every day I am grateful!
Just like this tree, wounded and scarred, it still survived and is essential element of the environment it lives in. It no longer is surviving, but it thrives!
I want to leave you with this. How do you know you’re healed? How can you tell the pain is no longer pain, but purpose? How do you know when your mess has now become a message?
For me, it was when I could finally talk about what I had fought through. It was when I could talk about it with the peace of God and not with the pain of the process.
So, how do you know when you’re healed?
When you see the scar and feel the peace.
