Bigger Than Your Giants

Scripture

David said: Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear: this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, because he has defied the armies of the living God. The Lord who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine.”

I Samuel 17:36-37

The Power Inside of You is Bigger Than Your Giants:

For many years, I allowed my fears to consume me. I remember as a young woman I used to get so anxious worrying about everything. Wondering how I was going to pay bills when married when my ex-husband lost his job, how I was going to buy the necessities for home, caring for my two children, and if the dreams I had were ever going to manifest in the natural. I carried this anxiety around like a second skin, everywhere I went, every new experience, I would be overcome with anxiety. I can still remember having a panic attack while in the car driving, it shook me up so badly until I was afraid to drive for 5 years on any interstate. I will never tell you that you can pray your way out of every situation. There are certain things you just have to pray through. There are some crisis and issues that we cannot get through on our own but there are times in our life when our biggest fears are in our own head and hearts, they are not real.

I wonder how many of us are allowing things that are not even real to control us! These invisible fears control us! These invisible fears control the decisions we make, they control the risk we allow in our lives, they control how we see ourselves and think about our future.

Sometimes, we allow all the troubles in our mind and spirit to get us down and knock us off our element. Some problems knock us out so good that it feels hard to get up, but as children of God with access to the Kingdom’s tools, we have everything we need to fight against the troubles of this world. Jesus showed us on the cross and through His resurrection, that there is nothing in this world, even death, that can destroy us. Just as David, a young shepherd boy from the backwoods of Jerusalem slew a mighty renowned giant, so can you by faith, slay all your worries, stresses, heartbreaks, sicknesses, and brokenness. You are the giant to them.

As you end another week, ask yourself these questions:

  • Who is your Giant?

  • Is the Giant in your life financial burdens, family stress, employment, health issues, or a toxic relationship?

Whatever you are dealing with today, I want to remind you that giants do fall.

I want you to not only feel empowered to conquer your giants, but I want you to be strengthened by a community of women to help you fight them when you need them!

There is nothing like community and one filled with power at that! So, I’m extending an invitation to you to join our Facebook Group, Heart 2 Heart: Abundant Women of Purpose; We are women walking in our journey of healing, wholeness, and purpose!
